- Your choices matters: new magic powers are determined by your choices after defeating each boss;

This game is a tribute to classic retro games with exploration elements. Use defensive/abilities or offensive magic and the overly judgemental hat to help little witch Sukie defeat the Broom Gang witches. The new spells you learn depends of your decisions in game, since you can follow the way of one of the ancient magical factions of New Salem: Chickendor and Defythering. Of course, you can play this journey using a balance of these two types of magic.
You will play as Sukie, a witch aprentice of New Salem Witchcraft School. You will receive the help of a lost rare magical artifact, the Overly Judgemental Hat (aka Chapeletta).
Sukie needs to prove her innocence and defeat the Broom Gang, a group of outlaw witches that stole rare magical items. During her journey, she needs to follow the path of one of the two main old groups of New Salem: Chickendor (for pacific but chicken-hearted witches) or Defythering (for brave but impulsive witches).

Loved the demo! I think you got the retro style very well, everything from the art, music, sound fx, gameplay.
I do have some some details that that could be improved IMO:
- Camera movement feels a bit.. "off". I don't know how to describe it but it felt like it was a bit shaky or maybe too fast.
- On my 1st run I tried climbing the stairs at the bottom right of the 1st screen, but I ended up falling and returning to the title screen having to go through all the intro again, which was annoying
- Played it with a gamepad but the analog stick didn't work (this is the one I use: https://redragon.es/products/harrow-g808/)
- The falling blocks take too much time to respawn, I felt like half a minute or so
- The fire action seemed to have a tiny delay between me pressing the button and the character firing the ball. With the normal monters wasn't a big deal, but it makes the boss a bit harder.
I hope this little feedback can be of any help. I can see that you put a lot of love developing this game, and I can't wait to play the full version!

I'm currently working in updates that includes a better camera movement system and falling blocks are respawned faster. Also, the basic fire shooting will be more like a "machine gun" style (but with magic stars haha), which will affect the gameplay a little bit, for better (I hope!!!). These and other updates will be available in the next version of the demo.
About the gamepad, after reading your comment, I tried to setup more buttons for movement. But despite I can setup more buttons for walking by programing, I just realized that the engine only works with 1 set of buttons for movement, which is very annoying. I will request an update for the engine, since this can limit how players wanna play. Thanks for your feedback, and really sorry for the gamepad problem, I will keep looking for a solution ><'
Hello again! In the last update I could add more buttons for moviment. Now the analog sticks are working in xbox controlers, so it's possible that now the analog sticks of the controler you mentioned works :)
This looks good and has real potential; I'm looking forward to the full version, and I'll be following it! My number 1 concern with any kind of action-oriented game is how the basic movement feels, and you nailed it; it feels really good! The visuals are charming, and it seems like thsi will have a pretty big world to explore.
I do also have a little feedback. I know this is in a pretty early in development, but I did find a bug: the ladder climbing is a bit slow, so I'd jump to climb a bit faster, but every now and again, if I jumped off the top of the ladder, I'd freeze in the air in the climbing animation; there wasn't anything I could do but restart.

About the bug at ladders, I wil investigate this bug furthermore. Actually it also happened to me while playtesting, But I still did not figure out what's causing the bug. But I will dedicate more time at this bug in particular, since it's kinda critical! I also will adjust the speed at ladders. Thank you very much for your feedbacks!! Have a nice week!!
